Behind the scenes:
Christmas Cathedral

The blueprints

The original idea sketches

Most details require multiple iterations and lots of practice

The small details

The best laid plans shift to cardstock for making patterns to roll out and cut

Those Gingerbread Men Sprinkles helped make the deep doors sing

Melted Ginger Candy windows for that soft candlelight glow!

Designing the path of the labyrinth

The rose window

I hand drew the pattern, then piped it onto the cooled isomalt window.

Using the tiniest paintbrush I could find, I colored each cell using gel food coloring.

The finished product!
(and that is one of the Mayan symbols for 'heart' as the center design!)
